Job Description Railway Ticketing Executive.
Job Summary
A Railway Ticketing Executive is responsible for managing ticket sales and reservations, assisting passengers with their travel needs, and ensuring an efficient and pleasant customer experience. Key Responsibilities
Ticket Sales and Reservations:

- Issue train tickets to passengers using computerized ticketing systems.
- Manage reservations and cancellations as per passenger requests.
- Provide information on train schedules, routes, and fares.
Customer Service:

- Assist passengers with inquiries related to train services, ticket prices, and travel routes.
- Handle complaints and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
- Provide information on discounts, promotions, and special services.
Transactions:

- Process payments through cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
- Ensure accuracy in transactions and handle cash responsibly.
- Issue receipts and maintain records of sales and transactions.
Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, reservations, and cancellations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
Operational Support:

- Assist in the management of passenger flow at ticket counters.
- Coordinate with other railway staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory of ticket stock and other supplies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in travel and tourism, hospitality, or a related field is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in a customer service or sales role, preferably in the travel industry.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using computerized ticketing systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Problem-solving abilities and a customer-oriented approach.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Patience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of the local language and English. Additional languages are a plus.
Work Environment
- Typically based at railway stations or ticketing offices.
- May require standing for extended periods and handling large volumes of customers, especially during peak travel times.
