Job description

1. Sub-Inspector (SI):

3. Ancillary Staff (Water Carrier, Safaiwala, Washerwoman, Barber, Mali, and Tailor):
   • Perform assigned tasks related to their specific roles, such as providing water, cleaning, laundry services, hair cutting, gardening, and tailoring.
   • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in designated areas.
   • Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.
4. Driver / Mechanic:
   • Operate and maintain railway vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
   • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles.
   • Respond to emergency situations and ensure the safety of passengers and cargo.
5. Ancillary Staff (Cobbler):
   • Provide shoe repair and related services for railway personnel.
   • Maintain tools and equipment necessary for the cobbler trade.
   • Ensure quality and timely completion of shoe repair tasks.
6. Cook:
   • Prepare and cook meals for railway personnel.
   • Ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
   • Plan and manage the kitchen inventory.

RPF Eligibility Criteria 2024

Eligibility criteria for the post of Constable and Sub Inspector under the Railway Protection Force in terms of educational qualification and age limit are as follows.

Educational Qualification:

• SI – One must have pursued a Bachelor’s degree from a UGC recognised University.
• Constable – It is mandatory that an individual must have passed the Matriculation exam.

Age Limit:

• SI – The applicant’s should be at least 20 years and not exceed 25.
• Constable – One’s age must be below 18 and above 25 years.

There will be upper age relaxation for OBC, SC/ST and OBC for 10 years, respectively

RPF Selection Process 2024

Selection process for the post of Constable and Sub Inspector under the Central Reserve Police Force consists of three stages, which are CBT, PET and PST. Get the details about the same from below.

• Sub-Inspector:

    • Female: 9 feet
  • High Jump:
    • Male: 3 feet 9 inches
    • Female: 3 feet

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

    • UR/OBC: 165 cm
    • SC/ST: 160 cm
    • For specified categories: 163 cm
  • Chest (Only for male):
    • UR/OBC: 80 cm (with a minimum expansion of 85 cm)
    • SC/ST: 76.2 cm (with a minimum expansion of 81.2 cm)
