As per the order, the event has a specific time limit due to its location next to the national highway. To manage the traffic, alternate routes have been designated for the duration of the event.
Initially, the Congress party intended to begin the Yatra from Imphal Palace Ground, but due to the BJP-led N. Biren Singh government’s limitation of the number of participants to 1000, they relocated to a private ground in Thoubal.

The Yatra’s authorization also encompasses terms that forbid the use of anti-national or communal slogans during the procession. The Congress has stated that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is not intend for electoral purposes, but rather as a response to the government’s failure to address people’s concerns in Parliament. The objective of this initiative is to reinstate the fundamental principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as outlined in the Constitution.
The journey will pass through 100 constituencies of the lower house of Parliament in 15 states before ending in Mumbai on either March 20 or 21. Apart from Manipur, the expedition will include the northeastern states of Nagaland (covering a distance of 257 km over two days), Arunachal Pradesh (covering a distance of 55 km in one day), Meghalaya (covering a distance of five km in one day), and Assam (covering a distance of 833 km over eight days).
The pilgrimage will then proceed to West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
