The State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha, has issued a notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts. Under this recruitment drive, the board aims to fill a total of 1,061 post-graduate teacher (PGT) vacancies for the non-government-aided higher secondary schools of Odisha in different subjects.

SSB Odisha Junior Assistant Recruitment 2024

Candidates who want to be appointed as Junior Assistant in BSE , CHSE Odisha or OUHS need to know that the application form will be made available on the official website at https://ssbodisha.ac.in/ for four weeks from 16 March to 15 April 2024. Candidates who meet certain eligibility criteria will be able to apply on or before the deadline.

SSB ODISHA ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age Limit: To be eligible, the minimum age limit for all categories of candidates must be at least 21 years old, and the maximum age shall be 38 years of age as of January 1, 2024. However, applicants in reserved categories are eligible for upper age limit relaxation.

Educational Qualification:

(a) Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognised university, or they must have completed a six-year integrated postgraduate program from a Regional College of Education recognised by NCERT with at least 50 per cent marks in total or an equivalent grade

(b) They must have acquired a BEd. or an equivalent degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.

c) BEd. qualification is not mandatory if you’re applying for the post of PGT in Education, Commerce, Home Science, Psychology, Sociology, Geology, Logic & Philosophy, IRPM, Telugu, or Urdu subjects.

(d) However, if a candidate is applying for the post of PGT in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Geography, History, Political Science, Economics, Odia, Sanskrit, or Zoology subjects, BEd. qualification is mandatory.

SSB SELECTION PROCESS

The selection of candidates shall be done on the basis of a written test and a career assessment. The distribution of marks reads as follows: There shall be a written test (Multiple Choice Questions) of 150 marks in the concerned subject as per the syllabus, while the career assessment will comprise 50 marks. There will be 100 questions in total, each carrying 1.5 marks, with a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer

SSB ODISHA PGT RECRUITMENT 2024: APPLICATION FEE

A non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs 1000 needs to be paid by candidates falling under the unreserved / SEBC category, while Rs 500 will have to be paid by candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe, and PwD categories (those with 40 per cent permanent disability or more)
